Scoliosis is an abnormal curving of the spine and causes various complications for those suffering from the condition. One San Roman boy is in need of surgery due to this condition. Dangriga correspondent Harry Arzu reports.

12 years old Ronaldo Pop is a student of United Community Government Primary School located in San Roman Village in the Stann Creek District. Young Pop had not been attending classes, because he had been suffering from severe body pain and breathing problems. Ronaldo Pop has been diagnosed with severe Scoliosis. This condition is a bending in the backbone, that interferes with his ability to walk or run. Doctors say that his condition can be improved with surgery. However, this surgery must be done by specialists. With this backdrop, the Pop family is seeking the public assistance in an effort to raise some much needed funds to meet Ronaldo’s medical and surgical expenses. Conversely, Eduado Pop, the father of Ronaldo Pop, said that he is very concerned and worried about his son’s condition, and that they need to raise some ten thousand dollars for the surgical proceedure.
