The official 2015 scholarship program briefing for the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Belize and Belize-Taiwan ICDF Program scholarships was held Wednesday morning in Belize City.
Some 258 persons have accepted scholarships for study in the Far East country. and more than 120 students have finished their programs and returned to Belize to work.
Members of that group and interested persons attended the briefing to learn more about degrees in eleven Bachelor-level programs, 20 Master’s-level programs and 2 Ph. D.-level programs at 21 Taiwanese universities.
Ambassador of the Republic in Belize, His Excellency Benjamin Ho, spoke about why Taiwan, which is celebrating 17 years of official relations with Belize, concerns its education assistance the most important component of that relationship.
“ We are going to provide scholarships to your students to go to Taiwan to study, so that they can learn more about the most updated knowledge in every field they are interested in. They become very important in the nation’s development and contribute to the country. We are part of them and now we have about a hundred and sixty more in Taiwan still pursuing their degrees in their respective fields. I know many of you are keen in going to Taiwan. That’s why you are here.”
The application deadlines for Taiwan ICDF Scholarship and Taiwan (MOFA) Scholarship are March 16, 2015 and March 31, 2015 respectively.
