24 Belizean students have been awarded scholarships by the TaiwanICDF (Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund) Scholarship Program and the Taiwan Scholarship Program 2017. Both scholarship programs provide each scholarship recipient with a round trip ticket, accommodations, tuition fees, credit fees, insurance, textbook costs, and a monthly allowance ranging from US$400 to US$950 depending on what subject is being pursued. The scholarships will last for a maximum of 5 years for each recipient. This year is the first year that 3 Belizean students have been accepted by the School of Medicine for International Students at the I-Sou University (ISU) to pursue a four-year M.D. program . The other 21 Belizean recipients will attend the University of their choice in Taiwan to pursue their undergraduate or graduate degrees through the Scholarships. So far, a total of 332 Belizeans have been offered scholarships to study in Taiwan.
