The Barrow administration is contemplating new legislation to deal with public debt management. During yesterday’s press conference, Prime Minister Dean Barrow hinted at what is to come.
Dean Barrow – Prime Minister:
We did speak to the IMF about wanting to do this, and their technical people have been helpful in offering us a brief with some sign posts, but I have not yet studied that. We wanted to get this out of the way. So I can’t speak to the details right at this moment.
Barrow added that a committee will be formed to oversee that management, possibly headed by Ambassador for Economic Affairs, Mark Espat.
