Suspect in taximan murder positively ID’d in highway robbery

On Saturday  January 15th, Lincoln Bejerano was arrested and charged for the crime of robbery. The charge came after Bejerano was positively identified in an ID parade as one of the persons involved in a highway robbery on which we reported earlier this year. As we reported at the beginning of this month, A Belizean manager of  PUMA Energy limited was robbed of the company’s Isuzu D Max on the vlcsnap-2016-01-20-11h57m35s605Hummingbird highway while in Armenia Village.  38-year-old Melonie Popper Coc told police that on Saturday the 2nd of January at about 7:15 p.m. she was driving the vehicle along with her mother and 4 children from Belmopan to Pomona Village. While in Armenia Village, she pulled off to the side of the highway to make a phone call and got out of the vehicle. While outside, Popper was approached by an armed male person of Hispanic descent who took away her cell phone. After taking away her cell phone, he then went inside the vehicle and took out the children along with her mother. A second male person then came and sat in the vehicle and they both drove off towards Belmopan.. Inside the vehicle was a purse containing $1,400.00 in cash, a Blackberry phone registered to Puma Energy, two Samsung Galaxy tab4, and other personal belongings.  Bejerano has since been arrested in connection to that crime. Now, if Bejerano looks familiar, it is because he was recently arrested for another crime when he was found inside a taxi belonging to murdered taxi man Isidro Swar. vlcsnap-2016-01-20-11h59m56s687Swar was killed right up  the street from PlusTV on the night of January 8, his body left on the George  Price Blvd after being shot numerous times.  On the same night of the murder, police recovered the maroon taxi which was being rented by the deceased Isidro Swar. Inside the vehicle was Lincoln Bejerano and a female minor.  The following Monday on January 11, Lincoln Bejerano and the 17 year old female minor were both taken before the court and charged with various counts of possession of ammunition and  possession of an unlicensed firearm which were reportedly found in the stolen taxi along vlcsnap-2016-01-20-12h00m01s582with them. Both have also been charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. They are scheduled to be back in Court on March 11, 2016 in relation to that crime. Now, Bejerano is also facing another robbery charge in the stealing of the Puma Energy Isuzu Dmax.  Police have not said whether there is any intention to charge Bejerano further in connection to the murder of Swar.
