Shooting in Cayo leaves two teenagers injured
Two teenagers were shot in the cayo district, one of those persons was shot by police. Police were called to the scene of a shooting incident on Carmen Street in Santa Elena Town, just before 8 o’clock last night. There, police found16 yr old Jamin Sharshante of Santa Elena Town lying face down on the basketball court. Sharshante appeared to have a single gun shot wound to his lower back. While Police were transporting Sharshante to the San Ignacio Hospital and upon reaching Savannah Street in front of Norman Broaster Stadium, their attention was drawn to 18yr old Blake Bradley . Bradley was riding a bike and had a knap sack with what appeared to be the Nozzle of a sawed off shot gun protruding out of it. Police attempted to stop Bradley but Bradley tried to escape. As a result, Bradley was hit by the Police vehicle causing him to fall off his bicycle. When Bradley stood up, police say he reached for the object in his knapsack. Police, beleiving it to be a weapon, then fired a single shot at Bradley hitting him on his right leg. Blake Bradley was transported to the San Ignacio Town Hospital and is presently under Police guard. Police recovered from the crime scene on Carmen Street three expended 16 gauge shells. A search of Bradley’s knapsack led to the discovery of one 16 gauge shotgun along with three 16 gauge cartridges. Police are looking for three other persons for questioning regarding this shooting.
