Accused murderer Orel Leslie is taking the Belize Central Prison to court. Leslie is accusing the prison of violating his constitutional rights by treating him inhumanely and not affording him the right to a fair trial. Leslie was to appear in Court today before Justice Abel, but, according to reports Leslie was unable show up to the hearing due to the ongoing criminal case. As a result, Leslie was ordered to pay five thousand dollars to the court since the four days which were accommodated for his hearing will now be wasted. Virgio Murrillo, C.E.O of the Belize Central Prison, told the media that Orel Leslie was being sanctioned for violating prison rules and he has taken that and interpreted it to be one of violating his constitutional right by not affording him a fair trial.
