US Investigators from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, are claiming that in February, Thompson had sexually explicit conversations with two Belizean children on Facebook; a 13-year-old and 15-year-old, both Belizean girls.
Mr. Thompson told one of the girls, “ok we need to start thinking how u can see me,” and “I bought my plane ticket today,” among other more explicit messages. Agents also found pictures of the young girls in his account. They also found a message where he told the girls to delete all communicated messages on their computer.
Investigators say that he then booked a flight to Belize City to have sex with the two underage girls. Then on Friday, March 14, prosecutors say Thompson took a flight from Tampa to Belize City, with a layover in Miami. Law enforcement in Miami searched his checked bag and found condoms, a drug for erectile dysfunction, two brand new computer tablets and fliers for a hotel in Belize.
He was allowed to fly to Belize, but was refused entry into Belize and arrested at the Miami International Airport. He is charged with enticing minors, and made his first appearance in court Monday morning. If convicted, Thompson faces 10 years to life in prison. Thompson has worked for Pasco schools since 1994, and travelled to Belize nine times since June 2011.
