26-year-old Andy Rhaburn, who is accused of killing his own mother, 53 year old Braulia Pech, was captured by Orange Walk Police this afternoon. According to police, they received a tip around 12:30 this afternoon and went to an area between miles 44 and 45 on the Phillip Goldson Highway, the outskirts of Carmelita Village. Police say that  about quarter of a mile in the bushes, Andy Rhaburn was located and called out by the officers. However, Rhaburn attempted to attack the arresting officers with a machete. A single bullet was fired which hit Rhaburn on the hand and hip. He was taken to the Northern Regional hospital in a stable condition and is currently under police guard. We understand that his injury does not appear to be life threatening. Rhaburn was on the run since last Tuesday January 16 after he allegedly hit his mother in her head with a crowbar. She died as a result of the injury. Police had issued a wanted poster for Rhaburn and had been following many leads of sightings. Today, one of those leads finally resulted in Rhaburn’s capture.
