A man was sentenced today in the Dangriga magistrate’s court after being convicted of attempted murder. Correspondent Harry Arzu reports.
“In the seventh session of the Supreme Court of Belize, another trial concluded today here in this municipality. on the 29th August, 2010, while in Big Fall, Toledo District, near the Rice Mill junction, 24 years old Lawrence Cholom inflicted a stab wound to the abdominal area of 24 years old Moses Williams with a machete. Williams was subsequently hospitalized at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he had to go surgery for his injury. Cholom was later indicted on the 1st November 2012 for the attempted murder of Moses Williams. On the 9th December of this year, Lawrence Cholom was convicted for the said offense, by Justice Dennis Hanaman Sihng. today, he was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with effect from the 11th November, 2013″.
