Another cyclist gets hit on highway

A cyclist was hit by a vehicle while riding on the Philip Goldson Highway. Early this morning, between miles 6 and 7 on the Phillip Goldson Highway, 52 year old Nelson Hemsley, a Belizean driver was driving a white ford pickup. In front of him was a cyclist, 62 year old Loyden Foreman, who was travelling behind a vehicle. While they were driving, Foreman stopped his bike suddenly because the vehicle in front of him had stopped also. In an effort to avoid hitting Foreman, Hemsley swerved to his right, but still managed to hit the rear of the bicycle and knocked Foreman down. Foreman was transported to KHMH in an ambulance where he was treated and released with just abrasions to the face. A notice of intended prosecution was served on Hemsley.
