Meanwhile, Independence Police are seeking a man known to them as Donaldo, also known as “Tatereto,” in connection to the chopping death of 25 year old Rene Arturo Perez. Here again is PlusTV correspondent Harry Arzu reporting from the Stann Creek District.
“Independence police continue to investigate a gruesome murder incident that occurred sometime between last Thursday night and early Friday morning. Police reported that they visited a location from 5 miles east of Trio road junction near a farm in the Toledo District on Friday morning at about 8:30. At the location, they discovered the body of 25 years old Guatemalan Rene Arturo Perez with multiple chop wounds to the upper part of his body. He sustained a chop wound to his upper right side of his neck, right shoulder blade, left side of his neck and right hand. Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased and his friend known only to police as Donaldo or “Tatareto” were seen together last Thursday night at about 8:00. Police say that they have sufficient evidence that links Donaldo to the crime. Donaldo, who is wanted by police, is on the run and reports indicate that he was last seen in the Arenal area. Rene’s body is also at the Southern Regional Hospital Morgue where it awaits a post mortem examination.
