The Belmopan Mystics Volleyball Club (BMVC) has gained support since it was established almost two years ago. The club is very young, catering to 16 members from the female junior division, that is between the ages of 13-17. Out of these 16 young girls, eight are from the Belmopan Comprehensive High School (BCHS). In this regard BCHS held a special assembly this morning in which 5 student athletes, who have been a major asset to the Mystics Club were recognized. Manager and coach of the Belmopan Mystics Volleyball Club Ivet Price explains one of this year’s major strides of the club and the BCHS female volleyball team.

According to Ivet Price, BCHS through the Mystics Volleyball training program, had the second largest number of players in the Female Junior National Selection. The Mystics team recently participated in the Cayo Division 1 Competition which began in May and ended this past Sunday. Ivet Price explains, that though the young ladies did not bring home the goal, their excellent performance and vigorous determination must be commended

“It must be noted that of the four participating female teams, MYSTICS was the only entirely junior team.   The team played hard and performed really well,  with rank 3rd.   However, I will stress that we should be proud!   The first and second place teams were excellent teams with much older, much more experienced players”.

The ceremony concluded as members of the Female Mystics Junior team walked up  in a clamour of  tumultuous applause to receive their medals and claim their third place trophy.
