The series of constitutional marches and rallies continued this weekend as Dangriga hosted its own on Saturday. The March itself was sporadic at best but by the time it ended at the BTL Princess Royal Park, some 300 persons were gathered there. Speakers at that rally took the opportunity to address the controversial content of the Gender Policy 2013. Audrey Matura Sheppard , newspaper columnist, and force behind some of Oceana’s greatest victories in Belize, made her first public appearance on the issue of the gender policy. She compared the Gender policy 2013 to the previous gender policy of 2002, showing how the policy has been high jacked by the homosexual agenda.
Audrey Matura Sheppard:
The 2002 Policy was about how to make women develop, so the we can be equal partners with our men. But it says in the 2002 Policy that gender depends on what is you sex, male or female. But now in the 2013 Policy it doesn’t address gender and sex in that sense. It talks about gender equality only, nothing about men and women. And it said it is to focus on eliminating gender based discrimination. So it’s no longer about women. It is not enough that they want to change the law, but now they want to force us to accept that we need to teach our children from they are babies about this.
See that section of the Policy that says they will create legal infrastructure, that is the kind of law they want to bring to you. So let’s make it clear. Let people have their choices how they want to live, but let us not pass law that makes their right more special than your right.
But the homosexual agenda is even more special than Government, because if you openly disapprove of their corrupt lifestyle, if you don’t approve of their corrupt lifestyle, they will sue you with your own taxpaying dollars. Is that equality? Is that justice? Is that Human Rights?
Other persons took the mic to speak in their native tongue about issues they have with the gender policy.
Louis Wade Jr:
If you really understood the problem that is coming down the pipeline, you would be leading it by yourself. If nobody else followed you, you would be in front and not behind. An injustice has been done in the country of Belize as it pertains to Audrey Matura Sheppard, just because she stood up for what is right. And don’t fool yourself this evening that it will not happen to you, because when they did it to Audrey they were sending a message to you. I don’t care if you don’t get the message, I want you to know I get it, that’s why I don’t care how many of you come, I’m happy anyway.
