There was an accident just outside Belmopan on Friday morning at 9 am which has left a fifteen year old minor of Roaring Creek in the hospital. A grey Ford 250 pickup truck, driven at the time by Clarence Thiessen of Spanish Lookout, had just exited Guanacaste roundabout and was heading towards Belize City on the George Price highway. In front of him heading in the same direction was 15 year old Malcolm Hyde, a second form student of Baptist high School. Hyde had reportedly left school earlier the morning to go to his father’s place of business in Roaring Creek and was heading back to school on his bicycle. Somehow, the grey Ford knocked Hyde off his bicycle and on to the freshly paved chip seal highway. Hyde sustained a broken nose along with other abrasions to his face and upper body. He was taken to the Western Regional Hospital for treatment as police investigate the accident.
