Bar Owner Back In Court for New Immigration Offense

vlcsnap-2014-02-21-17h59m15s80The Immigration Department was back in court today after they raided Blue House Bar, the business place of a well-known naturalized Belizean who is originally from Guatemala.

Mrs. Dora Prado is no stranger to the court.  In fact, this is the second time that she is being charged for immigration offense.

About a year ago, she pleaded guilty to several counts of employing persons not in possession of a valid temporary employment permit.   Today, after a shake down at her bar, Immigration Immigration logo Belizeofficers found her in violation again and charged her for the same offense.

But this time, the businesswoman chose not to plead guilty and instead is challenging the department to prove their case against her.

The shake down occurred early this morning, and according to Immigration Officers, they found Mrs. Prado working a Guatemalan national who was not in possession of a valid temporary employment permit.

The accused lady was offered bail in the sum of $3,000 plus one surety of the same amount.  She must show up back in Court on March 14, 2014.
