We realize during some work in this same very park that this park is not being used for what it was intended to be used initially. Just coming out here on any given Saturday morning, you will have young people doing everything else other than what the park was intended for them to use. So, we are trying to promote the opposite to that and encourage the youths on their ways that they can use their skills, talents and they don’t have to use drugs at all”.
The event was carried out under the slogan “Count on Me to Be Drug Free” which was decided through a poster and slogan competition. Today, the top three finalists of that competition were honored at the rally.
Ms. Anna Banner Guy: “These young people that you see on the stage are people who actually took their time and tried to get involved in the community. One of the ways that they have done this, besides doing community projects, is entering into the poster and slogan competition.
