The National Post, which is a national Canadian based newspaper is reporting that Global Pharmacy Canada, which can be found online, is being ordered to close its Ontario Canada operations amid disclosure that it’s actually a Belize based company. According to the article, Global Pharmacy Canada advertise its “dedicated and friendly” sales staff in Toronto, lists an Ontario address and even displays the red maple leaf on its website. However the online pharmaceutical firm is said to be headquartered in Belize City, Belize and ships its low-price drugs from India and doesn’t employ a single pharmacist in Canada. The Post reports that , complaints about that seeming contradiction brought it under the scrutiny of regulators which prompted a ruling from Ontario’s top court to have Global’s Toronto area operations shut down for violating professional rules. The company is also said to go by the name GPC-Belize. Global Pharmacy must close its offices in Mississauga, Ontario, by June 25.
