Belize City resident detained for firing firearm in public

Police have detained Michael Williams Jr. Pending investigations for discharging a firearm in public. On Friday the 8th of April at around 12:25 a.m., shots were heard coming from the corner of St. Thomas and Dunn Streets in Belize City. When police arrived, 27year old Michael Eric Williams Jr. Was already detained by another police officer. Initial investigation revealed that Michael Williams Jr. exited a bar and took out a firearm and fired several shots in the air and drove off in his vehicle. Police have since detained Michael Williams, pending chargesIt is noteworthy that the person who fired shots in  a crowd on general elections day in Belmopan was never charged after Belmopan Area Representative John Saldivar stopped the police from detaining the shooter.
