Belize loses both games to Honduras and Guatemala

Belize played two valiant games against power houses Honduras and Guatemala. In the first game against Honduras, Belize lost two to nothing, due to two auto goals, scored on Belize’s goalkeeper Woodrow West.

The second game was played in Dallas Texas on Sunday evening, where they lost two to one. Carlos Ruiz and Marvin Avila of team Guatemala scored the two winning goals on Belize goalkeeper Shane Orio. Belize striker Deon McCauley put Belize back in the competition in the 80th minute of the game when he hammered a 24 yard shot from inside the right post. Belize pressed on, but it wasn’t enough to get them the draw they needed. As the score boards stand, Guatemala is leading the group with 6 points, Honduras and El Salvador with 3 points each and Belize is at the bottom of the chain with 0 points.

The group closes off on Wednesday September 10th. It would take Honduras to lose to Guatemala and Belize to beat El Salvador by putting no less than three goals in the net for Belize to qualify to the next round.
