Belizean awarded First Class Honours at UWI St. Augustine Campus

Karena Michelle Mahung, of Punta Gorda Town, brought international spotlight and regional recognition to the country of Belize at the 2013 University of the West Indies, St. Augustine campus graduation for the Faculty of Science and Technology, In Trinidad and Tobago. There she was awarded with “First Class Honours” and gave the valedictory address. Karena Mahung, who received an undergraduate Degree of Science with a major in environmental and natural resource management and a minor in marine Biology was also awarded the Asa Wrigth Nature Center Ian Lambie Prize for the Best Performance in Environmental and Natural Resource Management in her third year. She was also recognized for other curricular activities that she was involved in as a student of UWI. We extend her our congratulations and bid her a safe trip back home.
