The Belmopan Active Youth Group accepted a generous donation. The donation – a sum of $100,000 was donated by the US Embassy for the establishment of a grant project for youth drug prevention for Belmopan and Surrounding Communities. The grant funds for youth drug prevention program will be utilized to train some 45 youth leaders and 4 high schools in peer drug education, meanwhile it will be facilitated to educate close to 400 out of school youth on the dangers of drugs, anti-drug sports competition and to rehabilitate six parks into drug free zones. The grant project is scheduled to commence in October 2013 and will be completed in July 2014. Signing this US$100,000 grant on behalf of the United States was Mr. Joseph Boski of the United States Embassy and signing on behalf of the BAY group was Mrs. Anna Banner Guy, the President of the BAY organization.
