Belmopan Corporal busted with Cocaine

A Belmopan Corporal was busted with 2 kilos of cocaine on Tuesday, January 22.  Following a tip, officers visited an area between miles 17 and 18 on the Hummingbird Highway, where they intercepted a Green four door Toyota Corolla taxi .

The four male occupants were searched, however nothing incriminating was found on them. A search of the car, however, resulted in the discovery of two parcels under the driver’s seat and the front passenger’s seat.  The packages were opened in their presence and contained what appeared to be Cocaine.

The four men were cautioned and escorted to the Dangriga Police Station along with the Car and the suspected cocaine weighing 2, 800 grams.

The men arrested and charged for drug trafficking are: Corporal Martin Mas a 37 year old Police Corporal of San Martin Area Belmopan City;27 year old Pedro Sho , a fisherman of Libertad Village, Corozal; 41 year old Tom Jeffery Martinez,  a Construction Worker of Bullet Tree Falls. Cayo District; and 38 year old Bernard Phillip Che,  a Taxi Driver of San Martin Belmopan.

They were arraigned and are to return to court on March 11, 2015.
