vlcsnap-2013-04-15-21h10m20s105We had the presentation of the donation of a swing set to St Michael’s Preschool.  It was from a nomination that we had in-store from February up to March, whereby people could come in and vote for their favourite preschool that needed a swing set.  We had a vote of 290 for St Michael.

The Pre-school was founded back in 2009. Principal at St. Michael’s Primary School, Ms. Joan Sanchez, says that they are grateful that their preschool was selected.

Joan Sanchez – Principal at St. Michael’s Primary School:
vlcsnap-2013-04-15-21h10m40s36We are very, very grateful.  we were so happy the last day of school, the 22nd before we went on our Easter vacation, that we won this swing set. So we prepared the area to receive it over the weekend.  We are very, very thankful for the set.

Besides enabling the children to play, Sanchez says that the swing set will help the children improve on their social skills and mobility.

Joan Sanchez – Principal at St. Michael’s Primary School:
vlcsnap-2013-04-15-21h10m06s203One of the most important needs is to allow the children to socialize, to build on their social skills, to play with each other.  Having the swing set will allow them to be outdoors, and to develop some of their physical motor needs.

The swing set came at a cost of 5000 Belize Dollars.
