Bert Vasquez is back in the news because he is back in court. Vasquez remains on remand for the murder of 13 year old Jasmine Lowe but vlcsnap-2016-02-05-10h00m07s311vlcsnap-2016-02-05-09h59m41s560that is not the only charges that have been levied against him. Back in June of 2012, he was arraigned for 11 counts of common assault for inappropriate contact he allegedly had with a number of under-aged girls in the Cayo District. 6 of those charges were dropped in February of 2013. Today several of those sexual assault charges remain on him beside the charge of murder in the death of 12 year old Jasmine Lowe. Bert Vasquez’s new lawyer is Attorney at Law Oscar Selgado who took over from Attorney Simeon Sampson. Our friends at Krem first asked Selgado to give an update on the multiple cases against his client. In regards to the murder charge against Bert Vasquez, young Jasmine Lowe’s body was found on a farm in Cristo Rey Village in an advanced state of decomposition. Simeon Sampson, Vasquez’s former , had made submissions that the medical report could not specify what the cause of death was, and that there was no eyewitnesses to tie his client to the crime. The media asked Selgado if he intends to use this very line of defense. Selgado was not shy about his record before the supreme court of freeing murder suspects. A difficult case indeed, and PlusNews will be right there to bring the updates and verdict to you when it happens vlcsnap-2016-02-05-09h59m46s044
