Closing ceremony for the Beyond the Horizon 2017 exercise in Belize was held on Thursday. The ceremony took place at Price Barracks in Ladyville. Valued at USD $11.5 million, the exercise consisted of five construction projects and three medical service events in Ladyville, San Ignacio, and Dangriga. The construction projects were the expansion of the emergency room, as well as a new medical waste incinerator at the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan. In Ladyville and Double Head Cabbage, new medical clinic buildings were constructed while three new classrooms were constructed at St. Matthew’s Government School. The BTH closing ceremony featured many guests including the Governor General of Belize, US Chargé d’Affaires, the Deputy Prime Minister of Belize and the Minister of Education among others.
