The Bi-national Border Bridge that joins Belize and Mexico was opened last week. The new route, which promises to trim down traffic jams, is sketched with directional signs to aid motorists with smooth travels across the border. The new international bridge, as well as an access road was made possible through a partnership between the Belize and Mexican Government, to encourage trade between the two countries. Both projects cost an estimated 27 million Belize dollars. More than 2,900 people living on both sides of the border are expected to benefit substantially from easy and more secure transportation.
