BPP Offers reward for information into Toledo Credit Union heist

Independence Police are awaiting finger print evidence to see if the person they detained should be charged for the burglary of the Toledo Teachers Credit union in Bella Vista village. As we have reported, the thief or thieves made off  with 7 thousand  US dollars and over 100 thousand Belizean dollars. They also took a 9 mm pistol and a shotgun. Police at the Intermediate Southern Formation are waiting to see if prints lifted at the scene match those of the detained person. Today, the Belize Progressive Party issued a pres release on the crime asking police to do their best to solve it and asking the public for any information it may have as it relates to this burglary.  The BPP statement says that “ Stealing from a credit union is stealing from the working and productive middle class.”  The BPP Toledo Branch also issued a statement saying that is offering a reward of $1000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft from the vlcsnap-2017-06-16-11h24m57s604TTCU.
