On Friday Builders Hardware in Belmopan celebrated 20 long years of service to the residents of Belmopan.
Plus News stopped by to talk to the general manager Shelly Usher, who told us more about the Costumer Appreciation Day and why they celebrated it in Garifuna style.
Shelly Usher – General Manager of Builders’ Hardware
We have free food. We’re giving away gift items. We’re doing raffles. And we have the Garifuna drummers out here today, to celebrate with us.
Emanuel Pech – Plus News
“Tell me a bit about the promotions. What’s in store for the customers, for Customer Appreciation Day?
“We have discounted items, 50% off, 30% off, 25% off. We have 20% off on paints, right up to December.
All of the sales are going right through the month of December.
Every year we have our Garifuna drummers and the musicians here. If you can recall, we used to bring Paul Nabor every year, but he has deceased now. So now we have Mr. Lloyd Augustine here with us today, and the Garifuna drummers and dancers.
We’d like to thank the entire Belmopan [people] for supporting us, and for being loyal to us.”
Builders opened doors to residents of Belmopan in 1994 and what is now a 72 staff construction supply and hardware store started out in a small building on Culvert Road with three staff members before moving to a larger building on Constitution Drive where it currently stands.
