Pastor Lance Lewis, the President of the National Evangelical Association of Belize, says that Belizean Christians need to pray more. This is in agreement to the call made by Senator for the Churches, Ashley Rocke, to have Christians gather at various locations across the country this Saturday for corporate prayer ahead of the decision to be handed down by the Chief Justice on July 27th regarding the Caleb Orozco case. That prayer time is to be held at 6:30 p.m. Pastor Lance explained why corporate prayer is important.
“Christians in Belize need to pray more and be more vigilant. Most Christians are too relaxed in there prayer and they are too busy. Our nation is in a serious situation with crime and these things can be minimized if the people of God will be more vigilant in person prayer and social prayer.”
He told us more about the prayer time on Saturday July 23rd ahead of the monumental and historic decision.
Rev. Lance Lewis, NEAB President
“At 7 o’clock, all across the nation there will be prayer. In one particular district there will be about 15 places having prayer at the same time. We need to pray because with so many things happening in our society to see something else other than keeping the sodomy law, this will make things go from bad to worst. We are praying and believing by faith that God will intervene and we are asking people not to take this lightly. We want them to come out and evoke God’s blessing and direction on this nation.”
That prayer time is 6:30 p.m. in various areas of the country. To find out where exactly in your part of the country corporate prayer will be held, contact church leaders from your area. While the churches will be praying, we understand that the LGBT community will be making a public showing of their own in the capital city.
