There was a candlelight vigil and march on Saturday January 24 for the late Emerson Daly.
24 year old Daly was shot to the head and dumped in the river near Banana Bank. The young Roaring Creek man was last seen last Sunday in a vehicle with an unidentified man.
When he did not return home by the following day, he was reported missing and a manhunt began, leading to the discovery of the abandoned vehicle he was driving with blood stains on the back seat.
Two days later, the already decomposing body was found floating in the water.
Family , friends, and community members, turned out with lighted candles on Saturday, and from Daly’s home they marched the entire length of the village down to the Police Substation at the foot of the bridge, shouting, “We want justice”. The assembly then made its way to the grave site before heading back to Daly’s home where a short rally was held.
No arrests have been made in the Daly murder as yet.
