Carolee Jean Rhaburn remanded to prison for drug and firearm charges

vlcsnap-2013-08-20-08h08m53s16639-year-old Belize City woman, Carolee Jean Rhaburn, was remanded to prison on charges of drug trafficking, kept firearm and ammunition offenses.  This morning, the unrepresented woman was read the three criminal offenses in the courtroom of Magistrate Hamilton. According to police, on Friday, August 16, Rhaburn was walking on George Street in Belize City, when police officers stopped her and conducted a search.  In a purse she was carrying, police found a bag of weed which amounted to 72 grams.  Also found on Rahburn was a shoe box with contained point 38 pistol and 3 live rounds of ammunition.  In court, Rhaburn pleaded not guilty to the charges, however, Magistrate Hamilton explained to her that due to the nature of the two firearm offenses, he could not grant her bail at this time.  Carolee Jean Rhaburn was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until September 24, 2013.
