Cayo Resident lost weapon in rented vehicle

A Businessman of Esperanza village rented out a car to a customer without taking his 9mm pistol out of the glove compartment. 43-year-old Phillip Elvis Orellano, a businessman of Esperanza Village reported that on Tuesday the 1st of March, his wife rented out a red 2002 Mitsubishi Montero to a customer. After renting out the vehicle, he then remembered that he had left his 9mm/ .380 Walther Pistol with 7 live rounds in the vehicle. When they inquired about the weapon to the client, he reported that there was no weapon in the vehicle at the time he had rented it. The gun is valued at $2500.00. Police are investigating.
