Christian Workers Union had another signing today, this one with the Central Bank of Belize. CWU President Audrey Matura-Shepherd said,
“Our Members at the Central Bank of Belize (CBB) are relieved that we have today signed this successor Collective Agreement (CA) between the Bank and the Christian Workers Union (CWU). It took longer than we anticipated and was not without anxious moments, but we persevered,”
The new CBB-CWU CA was signed at the Central Bank’s Conference Room. Among other benefits of the new CA, some 106 CWU Members at the Central Bank will get a 5% salary increase, retroactive to January 1, 2015, over the three years of the Agreement. Members also get modest increases in other benefits agreed in the prior agreement. Signing the CA for the Central Bank were Deputy Governor, Mrs. Christine Vellos, and Deputy Director, Human Resources, Mr. Timothy Grant. Signatories for CWU were President Mrs. Audrey MaturaShepherd, Chief Union Representative Ms Andrea Coye, Deputy Chief Union Representative Ms. Tyola Casimiro and General Secretary Mr. Floyd Neal. Labour Commissioner Mr. Ivan Williams witnessed the signing.
