A night of drinking turned into a brawl that left one man suffering from numerous chop wounds. On Sunday the 14th of February, police visited #8 Bolivia Street in Salvapan, Belmopan where they saw 33-year-old Fernando Soria, a Guatemalan labourer, lying on the side of the road. Soria was suffering from cut wounds to the head which left his brain partially exposed, cut wounds to the right thumb, both knees and an amputated right index finger. Soria reported that earlier that night, he was heading home on his bicycle when he was attacked by one Edwin Chacon, the person` with whom he had been drinking. After being chopped, his assailant made good his escape. Soria then dragged himself approximately 50 feet to the nearest household where they rendered assistance until the police arrived.
