Coast Guard find floating sack of weed

The Belize Coast Guard discovered a “wet drop” on Tuesday December 15. The term “wet drop” is used to describe packages of drugs found floating in the sea, dropped off by drug planes for local drug dealers to pick up and distribute. Sometimes, drug dealers miss the packages and those packages sometimes end up in unintended hands. Such was the case yesterday, when, around 1:30 p.m., the Belize Coast Guard was conducting maritime patrol in the Bacalar Chico area of San Pedro Town. There they  found a sack floating in the sea containing 12 Kilograms of Cannabis. The discovery was reported to Caye Caulker police and the sack was then labelled and deposited as “Found Property.”
