Belmopan police have one man detained pending investigation of a burglary that left one business owner over $45,000 in the hole. according to police reports, David Medina, the owner of Medina’s Construction, reported that he was hired by Santanter Farm in the Banana Bank area to build a sugar factory at the farm, the Construction company moved its mobile building and expensive tools in equipment to the farm in November of 2013.
Over this weekend, thieves gained access to the building and wiped out the company of numerous expensive equipment and tools including skill saws, drills, grainers, welding machines and others.
Police got a lead into the case and conducted a house search in San Ignacio where some of the stolen items were recovered. One person has been detained as police continue their investigation.
