Corozal businessman robbed of over 50 thousand dollars

A Corozal businessman was robbed of over 50 thousand dollars on Friday evening. 34-year-old Avinash Deshmukh, Indian National and store manager of Corozal Town, reported that on Friday, 23rd June, at around 1:20 p.m., he flew from Ranchito Village via 1:30 p.m. flight to San Pedro Town, leaving his silver 4-Runner parked in the parking lot at Ranchito Village. The flight arrived in San Pedro around 1:55 p.m. where he collected whole sale and retail proceeds from the store on the island.  Those monies included $22,000.00 US dollars and about $10,000.00 BZ dollars; a total of about $54,000.00. Deshmukh then reportedly took the 5:00 p.m. flight back to Corozal. After getting off the plane in Ranchito; he walked over to his vehicle and he noticed a grey 4-Door car parked behind his vehicle. As he opened his vehicle, two male persons, one armed with a hand gun, jumped out of the parked grey car  and robbed him of the back pack containing all the money. In the process, he was reportedly hit to his head causing a cut wound to the top of his head.  Police are investigating
