Mr. Harry Arzu: Plus News Correspondent: “He had just buried his mother in Dangriga and was on his way back home to St. Bite village along with his common-law wife and family when they got into a fatal traffic accident on the Placencia Road. Placencia police reported to Plus News that five passengers were in the back of the pan of this vehicle on their way to St. Bite village on Saturday, October 19th. Farther reports indicate that an USA national, 43 year old Mary Clair was driving the vehicle: this green pick-up Toyota truck heading into St. Bite village on the Placencia Road when the five persons who were hitch hiking that arrived with her. Upon reaching mile 19 at about 3 p.m., Clair lost control of the vehicle which overturned, and the passengers who were in the pan of the vehicle were thrown out. As a result, two persons who sustained head and body injuries, died on the spot. They had been identified as 42 year old Mark Roches and his common-law wife 34 year old Elizabeth Dominguez who had just buried their loved one on that tragic day. Their bodies are now at the Placencia hospital morgue awaiting a post mortem examination. The others who received minor injuries, including a 13 year old child were treated and released. Police say that Clair has been charged for two counts of manslaughter, causing death by careless conduct and driving without due care and attention.
