Yesterday, we told you that a meeting between the Christian Workers Union and the Social Security board was held in Belmopan in an effort to come to an agreement over Social Security staff benefits. As we told you, this meeting follows a series of activities starting on April 21, when the Social Security Board union members staged a subtle protest by wearing the union t-shirt to work. That strategy was repeated on April 28. Today, we contacted Mr. Floyd Neal, the General Secretary for the Christian Workers Union, who said that they were able to make some progress in the meeting with Social Security Management yesterday. However, he was not willing to say what that progress was. He said that there will be another meeting tomorrow and it is their hope that they can reach an agreement that their m embers can be comfortable with.
