Darrell Grant’s life sentence appeal denied

vlcsnap-2013-03-20-20h14m25s71The Court of Appeals has upheld the conviction of a man for a killing that sent shock waves throughout the country in 2008. 27 year old Darrell Grant was sentenced to life in 2012 for the killing of a mother of two during a home invasion. Prosecutors say that in August of 2008, Grant broke into the home of Sandra Ruiz, who was there at the time with her two young daughters. Grant bludgeoned Ruiz to death with a hammer, after sexually assaulting her. Yesterday, Grant’s appeal was rejected after his attorney Kevin Arthurs and the Prosecutor Cheryl Vidal agreed that there was no miscarriage of justice during his trial. And so the court concluded that Grant had no ground to seek appeal
