Daylight robbery; suspects caught

Gas stations across the country continue to be prime targets for robberies. At about 12:30 this afternoon, two men, one armed with what appeared to be a hand gun, pulled off a brazen daylight robbery at the Puma Gas Station located at mile 2 ½ on the George Price Highway. As seen in the surveillance footage, one of the culprits ran towards a Puma Gas pump attendant with a firearm pointed in his direction. Both men then proceeded to rob the pump attended of the cash he had in hand, before making good their escape. According to Deputy Commander, Chester Williams, the quick response of the police led to the detention of the suspects, the vehicle used, and the fire arm used in the robbery.

Chester Williams, Deputy Commissioner of Police: Yes, there was a robbery at Puma here on ED 2, that will be in the Prison 4 area. And police’s quick response to that matter led to the apprehension of the suspects, the vehicle used as well the recovery of a 9mm pistol that was used in connection with that robbery.

Reporter: Did the suspects, the robbers actually make off with any property belonging to the gas station sir?

Chester Williams, Deputy Commissioner of Police: At this time the police are still trying to ascertain if anything was stolen from the gas station.
