The Director of Public Prosecutions Cherly-Lynn Vidal left offices on July 15th , to take a study leave in the middle of a very critical moment for COLA, who took up a private prosecution against former Minister of State Elvin Penner.
In an interview with the Attorney General Wilfred Elrington, he told the media he was of the opinion that the DDP, due to a lack of faith in the prosecution, did not take up the case herself.
The case was thrown out on July 24th due to a lack of evidence.
On Monday the DPP was back in office, and contrary to reports, she was on vacation and not on study leave.
She told the media today that she would answer any questions after she settles down.
