On Monday December 1, police were conducting mobile patrol on Kraal Road, Belize City when they saw a man of dark complexion with a Black Jacket over his shoulder. When the man saw the cops, he allegedly dropped the Jacket and ran off. Police set chase and caught up with him and brought him back to the location of the Jacket. Inside the jacket they found a plastic bag which contained 73 grams of cannabis.
Police have since arrested and charged 28-year-old Melvin Gentle, a Belizean Construction Worker of Belize City for the offence of Drug Trafficking.
In more drug trafficking news, at about 4:30p.m., on Monday December 1, while police were on the Buena Vista village road that leads to Valley of Peace responding to a robbery, they saw two men riding a red motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. Police then noticed an object being thrown into the bushes from the motorcycle. As a result, they pursued and caught both men and escorted them to the area where the object was thrown.
The area was searched by Belmopan police and K-9 personnel, where they found a black plastic bag in the area indicated by the K-9 dog to be drugs.
Police have since arrested and charged 36-year-old Michael Anthony McFadzen, a Belizean taxi driver of Roaring Creek village, and 20-year-old Christian Otto Peterson, a Belizean construction worker of Young Bank village, for the offence of Drug Trafficking to wit 104.3 grams.
