Esperanza man gunned down; fighting for life

A man was shot multiple times in the village of Ezperanza last night. 25 year old Joseph August was standing in his front yard around 9 p.m. last night when a lone gun man approached him and fired several shots in his direction.  August received 8 gun shot wounds to the left side of his body; an attack he has survived. Police updated on this latest shooting.

Joseph Myvette, Head of N.C.I.B. On 30th of May police responded to an information of someone been shot sometime around 9pm in Esperanza village. Upon police’s arrival, their investigation revealed that one Joseph August was inside a yard in Esperanza village, when he was approached by a lone gunman on a motorcycle who fired several shots at him, five of which caught him in the upper body. Upon the police’s examination of the scene, a total of twelve expended shells and one live 9mm rounds of ammunition was found. The victim, Joseph August was transported to the San Ignacio Community Hospital, where he remained in a stable condition. Police’s investigation into this matter is ongoing at this time.

Plus News understands that August was recently acquitted for the December 2012 San Ignacio murder of Rene Veraas who was found with 9 stab wounds, lying in a pool of blood inside his home.  We have been reliably informed that while August remains hospitalized, he is currently suffering from a blockage in a main vein to his heart.
