After 3 nights in lock down at the Belize City Queen Street Police Department, a family of 6 including a mother, her common-law husband, and their 4 sons,  were all remanded to prison after they were arraign on three criminal offenses. The GSU claims that on Friday they found a firearm, 8 live rounds of ammunitions and 619 grams of suspected cannabis, on the roof of a church which serves as a perimeter fence for a part of the premises which also encompasses  the premises of the family. The family includes of Frank Albert Jones of 47 years, his wife Lidia Mirian Estrada of 41 years, and his four sons, Richard Jones, Michael Jones, Dion Jones, and Rick Jones of 26, 21, 19 and 18 respectively. In court, the family of six were unrepresented however, all pleaded not guilty to the charges. We understand that they had seen the assistance of a legal representative who was just not present in court but are already in the process of applying for bail on their behalf. The arrest of the family caused the entire Victoria Street community to gather outside the court room in support. The family of six was all remanded to the Belize Central Prison until September 24, 2013.
