In 2013, the family of KTV Latino Star Daniel Aguirre were mourning his untimely demise and were also facing the possibility of losing their home. As it turns out , Aguirre had placed his home on mortgage for a 27 thousand dollar loan with Scotia Bank. When he died, the loan was transferred to his wife Milagro Garcia. Milagro, recently made a widow, was hoping that the life insurance of her husband would cover the loanBut there was a problem because Aguirre’s body was burnt beyond recognition, and so the hospital morgue refused to release his death certificate. A death certificate is required by the insurance company before any disbursement of funds. There would be no death certificate for Daniel Aguirre until a proper DNA test was conducted. In the mean time, the bank had given the family a year to pay the loan which is when we spoke to them again in 2014. Finally, in 2015, the results of the DNA tests are in and the family has finally received their loved one’s death certificate.

“Have the results came in and what are they saying?”
“That it was him, it was Daniel Aguirre. The results came in. I don’t remember the exact date, but it was in January of this year like around the 26. They just told me that it was Daniel Aguirre. Yes, it was my husband.”
The wife says they are still working on the details of the insurance. In the meantime, the family members presented themselves at court today to get the next court date for the man accused of the murder of Daniel Aguirre. Noel Alexander Torres was found in possession of the licensed firearm allegedly belonging to Daniel Aguirre a few days after the charred remains of Aguirre’s body was discovered,. He was charged in September 2013 for kept firearm and ammunition without a gun license to which he plead guilty. Torres was also arraigned for the murder of Daniel Aguirre; that matter is still before the courts. His case has been adjourned to April 28th 2015.
