A family of six were victims of a highway robbery. 38-year-old Melonie Popper Coc of Ladyville, reported that on Saturday the 2nd of January at about 7:15 p.m. she was driving a grey 2007 Isuzu D-Max four door pickup, which was the property of Puma Energy Limited, along with her mother and 4 children from Belmopan to Pomona Village. While in Armenia Village, she pulled off to the side of the highway to make a phone call and got out of the vehicle. While outside, Popper was approached by an armed male person of Hispanic descent who took away her cell phone. After taking away her cell phone, he then went inside the vehicle and took out the children along with her mother. A second male person then came and sat in the vehicle and they both drove off towards Belmopan. The vehicle is valued at $12,000.00. Inside the vehicle was (1) purse containing $1,400.00 in cash, (1) Blackberry phone registered to Puma Energy valued at $1,200.00, (2) Samsung Galaxy tab4, valued at $525.00 each, (1) Blu brand phone valued at $700.00, assorted cards and other personal belongings valued at $500.00 all to a total value of $16,850.00. Police Investigations continue.
