Fatal Traffic Accident in Stann Creek District

A traffic accident on the Southern Highway claimed the life of one man over the weekend. On Thursday the 24th of December at around 8:40 a.m, near the outskirts of Bella Vista Village, in the Stann Creek District, a traffic accident claimed the life of on Mynor Cruz, a Belizean revenue collector. Cruz was riding his Blue Honda Motorcycle when at mile 43, he crashed into a grey Mazda pickup truck. The pickup truck at the time was being driven by 58 year old Celestino Coc, a farmer of Bella Vista Village. The truck was damaged to the front portion and to the left driver’s door. Cruz, who was driving the motorcycle, received severe bodily injuries including a severed left hand and a crushed left foot. He was immediately rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital and then to the Karl Husenur Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Christmas Day. Police are investigating.
