A traffic accident causing the death of a little girl, proved too much for her father who ended his own life in grief. Police reports have it that on Thursday, October 17th, 41 year old Ricardo Antonio Rosa Tepas, a Naturalized Belizean of Santa Elena Town, was driving his Toyota Pickup Truck in a westerly direction around the junction of Joseph Andrews Drive and Branch Mouth road, San Ignacio. He then lost control of his vehicle and collided into a container that was inside a yard. His children were in the vehicle with him at the time, his 17 year old son who received a cut wound to his head, and his 14 year old daughter Glendy Tepas who received head and body injuries, and another 13 year old son. Glendy Tepas, whose injuries were more severe, was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, on Sunday October 27th at around 10:00 am. However, the already tragic story of the Tepas family took an unexpected turn. The father, Ricardo Tepas was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Police confirmed to us Monday evening that Ricardo Tepas, apparently consumed by guilt, ended his life at around 3:00 pm on that same day by drinking gramaxone.
